You already know how to
cook Dum Aloo the usual way. If you don’t, then refer to this recipe. Here we are presenting you with a recipe on how
you can make Dum Aloo in microwave. It would be easier to make this dish in an
oven. Also, the process will be quicker and a little less fussy.
Ingredients
- Potatoes: 8-10 (medium sized)
- Tomato Puree: 2
- Cloves: 2
- Cinnamon: 2-3
- Cardamom: 1
- Cream: ¼ cup
- Sugar: ½ teaspoon
- Ghee: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: to taste
- Mawa or Khoya: 50 grams
- Cashew Nuts: 4
- Raisins: 6
- Green Chilies: 4
- Onions: 2
- Ginger: 1 inch long
- Red Chilies: 4-5
- Garlic: 4-5 cloves
- Turmeric Powder: ½ teaspoon
Method
- Cut onions, ginger and 3 green chilies and soak red chilies.
- Make a mixture of onions, ginger, green chilies, red chilies, garlic, and turmeric powder.
- Grind and make a paste of the above ingredients. This paste will serve as dum aloo gravy.
- Peel potatoes and pierce with a pointed object. Soak them in salty water for an hour.
- Heat the soaked potatoes and a cup of water for 7-8 minutes at the micro high temperature.
- Let them cool. Make a hole in each of the potatoes for stuffing.
- Mix mawa, cashew nuts, raisins and 1 green chili (chopped to make stuffing.
- Fill the potatoes with stuffing and cover with the mashed pulp you have taken out while hollowing.
- Take ghee, garam masala and gravy paste in a pan and heat them at micro high for 5 minutes.
- Cook the above mixture again for 4-5 minutes at micro 450.
- Add tomato puree, cream, salt and sugar.
- Cook the mixture again for 4-5 minutes at micro 450.
- Add stuffed potatoes in the gravy and also water as per need.
- Now cook the potatoes for 3-4 minutes at micro 450.
- Dum aloo is ready now. Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves.
